The Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 35, and the Eras Tour pop icon, also 35, have been going strong for more than a year after their romance first made headlines in 2023. What started as a summer fling before the NFL season has turned into one of the most high-profile relationships in pop culture.
Now, following a Super Bowl loss and months of constant travel, the couple has reportedly made the healthy decision to lay low and unwind before their busy schedules pick up again.
A Much-Needed Reset in Kansas City
According to Us Weekly, Kelce and Swift have been hunkering down at the tight end’s Kansas City residence ever since the Chiefs’ Super Bowl LIX loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in February.
“Taylor and Travis are taking it easy right now,” a source told Us Weekly. “They’ve been laying low in Kansas City.”
After two years of back-to-back tours, international travel, and playoff football, the couple is taking advantage of rare downtime before their schedules ramp up again.
For Kelce, the break is well-earned. The Chiefs superstar played a grueling NFL season, battling through injuries while leading Kansas City to back-to-back Super Bowl appearances. Despite the team falling short this year in a 40-22 loss to the Eagles, Kelce has already confirmed his return for the 2025 season.
“I think the biggest thing is that I f—— love playing the game of football,” Kelce recently said. “I still feel like I can play it at a high level … I got a bad taste in my mouth in how I ended last year … I just feel like there’s a responsibility in me to play out the contract that I initially signed and to give Kansas City and the Chiefs organization everything that I’ve got.”
While Kelce is focused on his NFL comeback, Swift is also preparing for her next career moves. After wrapping up the Eras Tour in December 2024, she has been on a well-deserved professional hiatus, allowing her time to relax, write, and plan for the future.
