“Fight or Flight: Hippopotamus’ Terrifying Car Encounter in a Desperate Attempt to Flee from a Lion Herd”

October 29, 2023 by admin

A lone hippo appeared in front of a group of tourists in Kruger National Park, followed by a herd of lions. Unconcerned with the presence of people and cars, the lions rushed to attack the hippo.

The hippopotamus is the most ferocious animal in Africa. When feeling violated in territory or while protecting their young, hippos will kill any animal that disturbs them. Therefore, it is not uncommon for lions to choose hippos as their prey.

The hippo appears in the video wandering alone, as if it has either been expelled from the herd or has just been defeated in a fierce battle for territory. The lions took the rare opportunity, trying to defeat the giant prey.

When attacked by the lions, the hippopotamus was disoriented, frantically rushing to bite the head of the car waiting to follow the tour group. The driver of this car immediately reversed the car, the hippo then walked away, ignoring the lions that jumped on its back to bite.

Reportedly, the lions’ persistent clinging then made the hippo exhausted and collapsed. It received a painful death and became delicious prey for the hungry lions.
