The San Francisco Giants, missing star Matt Chapman, erupted for four runs in the ninth inning to stun the Colorado Rockies 6-5 on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at Coors Field. The victory, their sixth consecutive one-run win, set a franchise record and extended their streak against the struggling Rockies (12-54).
Casey Schmitt ignited the rally with a leadoff homer, his first of 2025, off Zach Agnos. Walks to Tyler Fitzgerald and Andrew Knizner, plus a wild pitch, set up Willy Adames’ bases-loaded walk. Wilmer Flores’ slow grounder tied the game, and Mike Yastrzemski’s single secured the lead. Camilo Doval earned his 10th save, retiring Thairo Estrada with the tying run on third.
Without Chapman, the Giants leaned on Adames, who delivered a sacrifice fly in the first and a 439-foot homer in the fifth, his sixth of the season. “The 48-hour reset helped,” Adames implied, as the blast marked his hardest-hit ball since May 25.
Kyle Harrison struck out six but allowed three runs, including two solo homers, in five innings. “A 26-pitch first inning kept him from getting too deep,” the team noted. Harrison is slated to start against the Dodgers on Sunday, with Justin Verlander not yet ready.
With Chapman out, Jung Hoo Lee returned to leadoff, tripling to open the game and scoring on Adames’ fly. Schmitt, starting at third, went 2-for-4, raising his OPS significantly. “He has a Gold Glove-caliber glove,” the Giants said of Schmitt.
